My stitched landscape “Hay Bales Study” has been selected for the prestigious Fantastic Fibers exhibition at the Yeiser Art Center in Paducah Kentucky!
Jurors Marcia Young (Editor in Chief of Fiber Art Now Magazine) and Laverne Zabielski (Kentucky fiber artist at Truly Wearable Art) viewed and scored 430 entries from across the globe for inclusion in this significant exhibition. I’m told that narrowing the body of work to 60 pieces was no easy task considering the outstanding quality of submissions.
The show features contemporary and innovative works created with fiber as the primary medium. One of Yeiser Art Center’s most engaging, innovative & colorful international exhibits, Fantastic Fibers seeks to showcase a wide range of outstanding works related to the fiber medium.
The 60 juried works will be on display from April 11 – June 6, 2015 at the Yeiser Art Center. Located near Paducah’s riverfront at 200 Broadway (in the historic 1905 Market House), it is just one block from the National Quilt Museum of the United States.
Thank you to Millie Cumming for these two photos of the Fantastic Fibers exhibit.
The Fantastic Fibers exhibit is an American Quilters Society (AQS) sanctioned event. This year’s AQS Quiltweek runs from April 22-25, 2015 when Paducah welcomes more than 30,000 quilters and fiber artists from across the globe.
