Craftsmanship Award at Carnegie Craft 2015

I was delighted to receive the Award of Excellence in Craftsmanship at the opening reception of Carnegie Craft 2015 for my two stitched landscapes Backlit Grasses and Wildflower Fields. Thank you to Barbara and Karl Freeman for supporting fine craft and sponsoring this award.

Jurors David Kaye of David Kaye Gallery and Emma Quinn, Executive Director, Craft Ontario selected the works of 50 artists working in all craft media for this fabulous show.

“The works selected for Carnegie Craft demonstrate a mastery of their materials, creativity of design, and fine craftsmanship, using clay, glass, textiles, wood, jewellery, metal and leather.”

I am particularly honoured to receive the Excellence in Craftsmanship award as it crosses all disciplines and there are many wonderful pieces in the show.

Carnegie Craft 2015 is a biennial exhibition and this year coincides with the official Craft Year 2015 designated by the Canadian Craft Federation.

Carnegie Gallery is in Dundas, ON, a charming Ontario town and worth the trip. Click here for information on the gallery.
